Add holidays and closed days¶
Business Holidays lists national days, festivals and your own closed days. The Scheduler paints them on the month so you do not plan a send onto a day nobody is there to answer replies. At the end, your own days appear in the Scheduler.
Before you start¶
- You can see Manage in the Email panel. If not, ask your admin.
- You know the dates you want to mark.
Steps¶
Open the holiday list¶
- Open Email in the left rail, then select Manage.
- Select Business Holidays. The page title reads Holidays.
- Read the line under the title. It counts shipped holidays and your own.
You can also open the list from the Scheduler. Click Holidays at the top of the Scheduler.
Read the list¶
- Look at the Date, Holiday, Type, Source, Note and Status columns.
- In Source, Shipped means the holiday comes with the product and is shared by every account. Yours means you added it.
-
In Type, read what each kind means for a send:
Type Meaning Festival A good day to send. National A good day to send. Closed Your company is closed. Do not send. Optional Some people will be away.
Add your own holiday¶
- Click Add. The add form opens.
- In Date, pick the day.
- In Holiday, type a name, for example
Annual stock count. - In Type, choose Festival — a good day to send, National day — a good day to send, Company closed — do not send or Optional — some will be away.
- Optional: in Note, type a reminder for your team.
- Save the form. The holiday appears with Source set to Yours.
Edit or delete a holiday¶
- Click Edit on one of your own rows. Change the fields and save.
- To remove it, click Delete and confirm.
Warning
You cannot edit or delete a shipped holiday. Its Date (shipped holiday — read only) field is locked, because one account renaming it would rename it for all accounts. The message says: This holiday ships with the product and is shared by every account, so it cannot be deleted. Add your own instead.
Note
A holiday never blocks a send. On the Scheduler, moving a campaign onto a Closed day only asks you to confirm.
Troubleshooting¶
