Let guests add their photos

With Guest uploads on, guests who verified their WhatsApp number can add the photos they took at the event, up to 50 each. Every photo waits for you. Nobody else sees it until you approve it on the Photos tab. Approved photos go into the Guest photos folder, and guests who are in them find them with their selfie, like any other photo.

Turn on guest uploads

Guest uploads are off for a new event.

  1. Click Photos on the left rail, select Events, and open the event.
  2. Go to the Settings tab, and pick Privacy.
  3. Under Guest uploads, pick On. The change saves on its own.

The setting now reads Guests can add up to 50 photos each (JPEG or PNG, up to 25 MB). You approve each one on the Photos tab, under From guests, before anyone sees it.

To stop taking photos, pick Off. Guests can't add any more. Photos they already sent stay where they are: approved ones stay in the gallery, and the rest still wait under From guests.

Approve or delete guest photos

  1. On the Photos tab, click From guests. The chip shows how many guest photos are waiting, for example From guests · 3.
  2. Read the strip at the top, for example 3 guest photos waiting for approval. Each photo is marked To approve, and shows who sent it, such as From Neha.
  3. Double-click a photo to see it larger.
  4. Select the photos. The bar reads, for example, 2 photos selected. To select every photo on the list, click Select all shown.
  5. Click Approve to show them in the gallery. Or click Delete, then Delete again in the Delete 2 guest photos? window.

When none are left, the list reads No guest photos waiting. Click Show all photos to go back.

An approved photo works like one you uploaded:

  • It sits in the Guest photos folder.
  • Ohanvi has already looked for faces in it, so guests who are in it find it with their selfie.
  • Guests who are in it get a WhatsApp message, when the event's WhatsApp messages are on. See Change event settings.

Approve each photo yourself

There is no button to approve every guest photo at once. Release all on the Photos tab also leaves guest photos out. Look at each photo before you approve it.

Warning

A deleted guest photo is removed from the event, and nobody else ever sees it. It still counts toward the guest's 50 photos.

What guests see

Once a guest has verified, the top of their photos shows Took photos at the event? Add them to the gallery. with Add your photos. The same item is in the page menu.

  1. Tap Add your photos. The page reads The studio reviews photos before anyone sees them.
  2. Tap Choose photos and pick several photos.
  3. Keep the page open. It reads, for example, Sending 2 of 5… Keep this page open until your photos are sent. When it is done: 5 photos sent. The studio will review them.

  4. Read Your photos. Each photo shows Waiting for approval or Approved.

  5. The page counts the photos, for example You’ve added 12 of 50 photos. and You can add 38 more photos.

  6. Each photo can be JPEG or PNG, up to 25 MB. An iPhone (HEIC) photo, or a larger one, is turned into a JPEG on the phone first, when the phone's browser can open it.
  7. A photo that fails shows the reason, with Try again and Remove.

Troubleshooting

Issue Cause Fix
A guest doesn't see Add your photos Guest uploads is Off, or the guest hasn't verified their number. Pick On under Settings → Privacy → Guest uploads. Ask the guest to tap Find my photos and verify.
A guest sees The studio isn’t taking photos from guests right now. Guest uploads is Off. Pick On, if you want their photos.
A guest sees You’ve added as many photos as you can for this event. They sent 50 photos. Photos you deleted still count. No fix needed. Ask them to send any others another way.
A guest sees That photo is too large. The limit is 25 MB. The file is over 25 MB, and the phone could not shrink it. Ask the guest to pick a smaller copy of the photo.
A guest sees We couldn’t open that photo. Choose a JPEG or PNG. The photo isn't JPEG or PNG, and the phone's browser could not change it. Often an iPhone HEIC photo on a computer. Ask the guest to pick a JPEG or PNG. On an iPhone, they can set Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible for new photos.
A guest sees Verify again to add photos. Their session on the page ended. Ask them to verify their number again, then add the photos.
There is no From guests chip Guest uploads is Off, and no guest photo is waiting. Turn Guest uploads on.
An approved photo doesn't show for a guest who is in it Ohanvi didn't match their face in it, for example a side-on face. Check the event's match strictness. See Change event settings.
